  Job Summary

• Supervises routine patient food production, service and nutritional care, employee/visitor/cafeteria meals and catering activities.

• Provides exceptional care and service to patients, guests and employees at all times.

• Supports the hospital’s goal of excellence in patient care in a Christian, caring environment by facilitating positive employee relations and supporting department goals.

• Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital’s Catholic heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion and stewardship.

• Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and the Ethical and Religious Directives for healthcare.

  Education and/or Experience

• Extensive previous food service experience in hospital or long-term care required.

• Basic cooking and computer skills required.

• Knowledge of therapeutic diets, food handling and sanitation required.

• Supervisor experience preferred.

  License/Certification/Registration

• Serve Safe Certification required.

• Sanitation Certification preferred.

  Work Schedule

• 6:00am-6:30pm; 6:00am-2:30pm, e/3rd wknd/hol; 80hrs/2wks
