Your Role

The Customs System Specialist is responsible for the maintenance, support, and enhancement of customs-related IT systems. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to understand customs requirements, implementing system enhancements, providing technical support, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Your Responsibilities

  • Monitor the performance and functionalityof customs IT systems

  • Collaborate with customs authorities andstakeholders to gather requirements for system enhancements or newfeatures.

  • Work closely with IT developers orvendors to design, develop, and implement system upgrades orcustomizations.

  • Implement data integration solutions tofacilitate seamless exchange of information between customs systems andexternal stakeholders (e.g., importers, exporters, regulatory agencies).

  • Develop training materials and conducttraining sessions for customs staff and end-users on system usage, bestpractices, and regulatory requirements.

  • Proactively seek feedback from users andstakeholders to enhance system usability and effectiveness.

  • Participate in cross-functional projectsor committees aimed at improving customs operations and ITinfrastructure.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in IT systems support,maintenance, and development, preferably in a customs or tradeenvironment.

  • Strong understanding of customsregulations, import/export processes, and international trade practices.

  • Proficiency in database management systems(e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and programming languages (e.g., Java, Python).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills andattention to detail.

  • Certification in relevant technologies ormethodologies (e.g., ITIL, Agile) is a plus.
