*Securian Financial Groups internal position title is Financial Planning & Analysis Sr. Consultant. In this role, you will oversee critical financial duties, encompassing expense management and third-party distributor contracts. Moreover, you will be instrumental in offering strategic counsel to senior management and articulating financial assessments with clarity. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Forecasting and Financial Analysis: Project expenses for the current and upcoming three years, considering operational changes, new initiatives, and enterprise-wide cost allocations. Lead studies to determine pricing adequacy and evaluate the profitability of new products and business partnerships. Communication and Liaison: Serve as the primary contact between Affinity Solutions and shared solutions, corporate departments, and Corporate FP&A. Ensure clear communication of business plans and allocated expense drivers. Partner with the Account Executive team to deliver insightful reporting. Financial Reporting and SAP Expertise: Prepare and enter quarterly expense variance commentary in Wdesk. Approve and manage SAP journal entries, account reconciliations, and roll-forwards, providing expertise on SAP AO, FIORI, and SAC reporting. Strategic Support and Process Improvement: Collaborate with shared solutions to assess the impact of changes to business volumes and service levels. Assist management in evaluating the financial consequences of proposed initiatives and ensure accurate expense allocation to products. Identify and implement process efficiencies. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required. Minimum of 5 years of previous corporate finance experience with exposure corporate structure. Advanced technical knowledge is necessary, particularly in Excel, to manage financial data structures, review, modify, and create formulas/queries. Proficiency in the Microsoft suite is also required. The ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines consistently, and take initiative is important. Candidates should be self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently with limited oversight, as well as part of a team. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy. Strong analytical skills are essential, with the capacity to focus on both details and larger issues. Must possess excellent communication skills to effectively engage with all levels of management, home office associates, clients, and distributors. Collaborative skills are crucial for teamwork and partnership. Preferred Qualifications: CPA certification. An understanding of GAAP and STAT reporting. Professional experience with SAP. Familiarity with life insurance concepts and products is preferred. #LI-hybrid This position will be in a hybrid working arrangement.
