Ansible Government Solutions Occupational Therapist (OT) in St. Louis, Missouri

Overview

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting multiple Occupational Therapists (OT) to support VA St. Louis Health Care System operations. Various PRN and full-time shift schedules covering multiple local area VA healthcare facilities and outpatient clinics are available. Highly competitive compensation packages are available to qualified candidates.

The OT will provide on-site clinical services for the VA St. Louis Health Care System. They will perform duties in an inpatient acute care, outpatient, and rehabilitation setting. The OT will conduct occupational therapy assessments/evaluations, develop and implement therapeutic treatment plans for patients with diseases/illnesses/injuries that are acute, critical, or chronic in nature in conjunction with a combination of severe physical and/or mental disabilities.

Responsibilities

Hours: Multiple shifts available. Full time and part time (PRN) opportunities available.

  • Perform the following evaluations: standardized neurological occupational therapy evaluation, General Therapy Screenings, Activity of Daily Living evaluation, Instrumental Activity of Daily Living evaluation and adaptive equipment evaluation and assessment.

  • Formally and informally assess the patients’ physical, functional, psychosocial and emotional needs and use that information to develop a comprehensive and dynamic treatment plan which will enable each patient to achieve optimal levels of function in self-care, activities of daily living, work and leisure.

  • Treatments include:

  • Therapeutic exercises

  • Neuromuscular re-education

  • Cognitive Therapy

  • Functional activity training

  • Prevention/ Treatment of UE pain

  • Adaptive equipment evaluations and prescription

  • Wound/lymphedema

  • Fabrication of splint

  • Assess the patient prior to the development of treatment plans and goals.

  • Provide therapeutic treatment plans in accordance with the initial evaluation findings for treatment aimed at prevention, reducing disability or pain, and restoring lost function.

  • Provide therapeutic interventions, which focus on function including range of motion strength, coordination, activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL).

  • Monitor the extent to which services have met the therapeutic goals relative to the initial and all subsequent examination.

  • Determine the degree to which improvement occurs and, when appropriate, revises the overall treatment plan.

  • Educate/counsel patients, families, and/or significant others regarding the disability incurred and about interventions to reduce the existing deficits, and improved management of any residual deficits in the resumption of life roles in the home and community environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of hospital experience or two years of ambulatory care experience

  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certified

  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a therapist in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia

  • Occupational Therapist education and degrees shall be recognized by the U.S Department of Education, from ACOTE accredited colleges, universities or institution

  • No sponsorship available 

All candidates must be able to:

  • Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift

  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist

  • Lift up to 20 lbs

  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance

  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
