What would I be doing?

Position Summary

Promote the facility, services, programs and events while interacting with Hotel, Marketing, Table Games, Slots, Public Relations and casino guests. Build customer database and player loyalty through recruitment and retention techniques including actively recruiting new members for the Star Awards program. Player retention through the use of direct mail and telemarketing, inactive player reactivation, hosting parties and participation in promotions, special events, gaming tournaments along with acting as a liaison between players and all other departments.

Star Club and ACE Existing Accounts

  • Provide personalized services to guests, focusing on Star Club and ACE players.

  • Evaluate player accounts and issue comps based on recorded play, earned number of points and comps available in player accounts.

  • Maintain player loyalty through direct mail, telemarketing and personal contact.

  • Retain the level of play of very high level Ameristar Star Club players assigned.

  • Assist with guests in the Star Club, being visible and available for questions by any guests.

Player Development

  • Identify potential new members for development to high-end players.

  • Circulate on the floor greeting guests who are playing in all gaming areas to identify new players and introduce themselves.

General Duties

  • Act as guest service liaison, handle guest opportunities and resolve situations so as to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.

  • Assist with dinner and/or hotel arrangements of players.

  • Be familiar and promote all current and upcoming special events, promotions and entertainment, as well as all casino activities and the Star Awards program.

  • Conduct and attend all regular departmental meetings as well as other related meetings.

  • Strive to exceed the expectations of our high-end players by following up on their visit with letters or thank you notes.

  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Be a role model for all service-related positions within all departments.

  • Resolve any problem or perceived inconvenience in order to ensure guest satisfaction.

  • Support Guest Service areas during busy times.

  • Assist Guest Service in ticket/invitation distribution when needed for events.

  • Adhere to established Guest Service standards for the department.

  • Provide ongoing support for Casino Operations, Slots and Marketing during shift.

  • Build a loyalty to Ameristar through frequent communication to players assigned by email or phone.

  • Meet and greet players who are playing on the casino floor; handling their requests where needed and appropriate.

  • Provide high level personal customer service to all Ameristar players.

  • Develop and implement business plans for each quarter targeting these high end players who are considered prospects, fading or inactive.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Provide assistance where needed to the Player Development Manager.

What are we looking for?

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • 5 years of casino marketing or sales experience

  • Strong problem solving, mediation skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly overcoming obstacles.

  • Fully Competent in Microsoft Office.

  • Must have good organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize projects.

Required Natural Behaviors

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

  • Verbal and auditory abilities for telemarketing and personal communication.

  • Visual abilities and tolerance needed to complete detailed paperwork and use a computer for extended periods of times.

  • As an Executive Casino Host, you are by legal definition considered a member of our management team on a 24 hour basis and as such, are expected to act professionally in all that you do as a representative of the Ameristar Casino & Hotel.

Required Education and Work Experience

  • High School Diploma and at least two years of college.

  • Prefer a Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university or three years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
