Universal Health Services Assistant Chief Nursing Officer in SHREVEPORT, Louisiana

Responsibilities

Brentwood Hospital is looking for a dynamic Assistant Chief Nursing Officer! The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer d irects, monitors, and evaluates the delivery of nursing care to general and psychiatric patients for the treatment of psychiatric and emotional disorders under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) supports the integration and coordination of nursing care with the overall operation of the hospital, utilizing the nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The ACNO promotes a culture of Service Excellence and serves as a role model by leading and mentoring nursing services staff; serves as CNO in the absence of the CNO.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, LDH and all other applicable regulatory standards; provide education to nursing department staff as required.

  • Supports the organization’s mission, goals, and objectives; demonstrates behaviors that reflect favorably on the hospital’s and corporation’s public image; Assists in coordination of the hospital wide performance improvement efforts.

  • Participates in treatment planning, implementation and monitoring; consults regularly with nursing and other clinical staff regarding treatment planning and monitoring issues.

  • Maintains effective working relationships with managers in interest of effective patient care and organization operations.

    Qualifications

  • EDUCATION / LICENSURE: Possesses current Louisiana Registered Nurse license; Bachelor’s degree in nursing or healthcare related field required; Advanced or thorough knowledge (equivalent to Master’s level) of psychiatric and general nursing care concepts and methodologies and skills in their implementation preferred.

  • EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of crises intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.

  • SCHEDULE: Determined by the Chief Nursing Officer.
