Description
OVERVIEW
Cadrex is searching for a Shipping Supervisor who is responsible for managing all outbound shipments, including completing paperwork in company and customer software systems, manages packaging materials inventories, preparing products for shipment, arranging for transportation services, and verifying and keeping shipments records. Provides daily work direction to shipping staff, as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders, or other records
Determines method of shipment
Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons to identify shipping information on cartons via packing slips
Assembles cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers
Inserts items into containers, or re-packs containers as needed
Shrink wraps containers and bands to skids
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet customer specifications
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
Operates forklift truck or uses hand-truck to move or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area
Performs all computer and data entry functions necessary to track various aspects of goods
Responsible for planning pick up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
Maintains and records finished good inventory
Provides daily work direction and training to Shipping Clerks
Works with Customer Service and Sales departments to ensure customer shipping instructions are followed
Updates Routing Guides from the customer as needed
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1+ years of related experience and/or training with documented success in Shipping Clerk duties
Provide work direction and guidance to other workers and act as supervisor in the absence of Manager
Answer questions and train new and current employees
Perform all duties as required adhering to quality and quantity standards
Understand the shipping process and the movement of products
Use computers as required?
Use measuring tools as required
Read and understand Blueprints
Complete necessary paperwork accurately and timely
Operate all hand tools, machines and equipment successfully as required and with minimal supervision?
Work as a productive team member who contributes to the organizations’ success
Handle fast-paced work

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
