Amazon Sr. Security Technical Program Manager, Amazon Stores Security SRC Healthcare Compliance in Seattle, Washington

Amazon Stores Security organization is seeking an experienced Senior Security Technical Program Manager (TPM). As part of the Amazon Stores Security Healthcare Compliance team, this role will build the bridges between security, technology, health services and compliance by working across remote and local teams within Amazon Stores Security organization, health security team, and related Amazon Health Service and corporate teams. This candidate should be a technically experienced and an innovative security/compliance professional who has the ability to dive deep into a variety of healthcare compliance requirements, complex issues, understand IT processes, and drive continuous process improvement to existing and emerging compliance standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and writing skill, and effectively work with cross-functional business and technical solution development teams to solve problems and implement new solutions through innovative process changes.

Key job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish credibility and maintain strong working relationships with groups involved with information security matters (Legal, Health Service, Health Security, Security Assurance, Customer Service, Application Security, Third Party Security, Systems, etc.)

  • Develop a working knowledge of the operational processes and controls in place that supporting the Amazon Stores Security and Compliance teams, including commercial and regulatory compliance programs, and guiding control owners in documenting their control activities

  • Perform service impact assessments of existing and emerging compliance programs

  • Manage process improvement and control implementation projects in coordination with the service teams

  • Assist stakeholders with aligning: standard operating procedures, controls, monitoring, and reporting with the goal of improving operations, compliance policies, and risk management

  • Innovation of mechanisms to better meet business processes and compliance requirements

A day in the life

In this role you will:

  • Engage with regional business and technical stakeholders to identify security needs, and maintain a broad understanding of the healthcare regulatory landscape impacting Amazon

  • Work with global cross-functional teams of Security Engineers, Business process owners, Assessors, and TPMs to deliver security reviews, and ensure compliance aligned with security standards and processes

  • Determine strategy for highly sensitive and/or high profile assessments

  • Develop security compliance metrics, and prepare reports for senior management on healthcare compliance or other regulations

  • Ensure the team delivers on security goals, and make recommendations for incremental process improvement

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 4+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps

  • 5+ years of experience in performing technical security assessments and audits of network, operating systems, application security, and auditing IT processes.

  • 5+ years of experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance tools and technology in working directly with auditors/regulators in support of compliance audits for HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC, ISO and other compliance regimes

  • Strong bias for action with ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines with a record of delivery of large IT process improvement projects with technology processes and/or major tech companies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
