Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$33.946 - $43.802 - $53.657

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do

Manages and produces compelling and engaging content for all Sharp Health Plan (SHP) customers across all lines of business and communication channels. Manages the editorial tone and style guide for SHP and adheres to Sharp HealthCare's editorial guidelines. Ensures content meets compliance standards, is customer-friendly and meets the highest quality in terms of accuracy, clarity and readability. Actively participates in content planning and journey mapping, writing, editing and project managing internal and external communications.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in public relations, journalism, English or communications or work equivalent.

  • 4 Years demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, including writing for multiple channels and audiences, and editing and proofreading content.

  • 4 Years content planning and production experience for a variety of audiences and communication channels. Experience in health care, health insurance or medical field preferred.

  • 3 Years online content production for a variety of audiences and communication purposes.

  • 1 Year search engine optimization/marketing, web analytics website usability and information architecture proficiency.

  • 1 Year experience with HTML editors.

  • 1 Year skills in content management systems and content workflows.

  • 1 Year experience in publishing and managing workflow of web content. Intranet management experience a plus.

  • Experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Professional, Adobe Professional and email software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal digital marketing education/training.

  • Experience in health care or medical field.

Essential Functions

  • Content Planning & Development Contributes to omnichannel content strategy and develops content plans and journey maps. Helps gather key competitor, business and user insights, and applies their strategic planning skills to create a long-term vision for the content that’s generated. Develops correspondence, emails (newsletters and alerts), press releases, articles, video scripts, social media copy and more to drive traffic to our website, influence action/behavior or support new product offerings.Ensures effective, clear and thoughtful communications. Coordinates with subject matter experts to ensure that content accurately represents all programs, services, requirements and standards.Identifies and pursues general content stories for publication. Develops new content and writes content for entity services and initiatives.Researches and recommends material for SHP's public and provider websites. Consults with entity marketing teams and department managers regarding effective site content.Writes email newsletters and alerts to drive traffic onto the website or influence action/behavior. Writes copy in support of new functionality development.Independently creates content; obtains appropriate reviews, edits and approvals if needed. Stellar project management to keep projects on track.Effectively uses the workflow management system to post content on the websites (Salesforce Marketing Cloud/ SHP Content Management system).Uses established style, tone and voice in all content and thoroughly understands all communication workflows, policies and procedures.Helps develop and maintain employee engagement and new employee onboarding journeys. Assists with Health Plan News and executive communications including content development, email building and reporting. Demonstrates accuracy in data gathering and copywriting. Thoroughly understands editorial policies. Promote and manage SHP brand online while adhering to Sharp HealthCare brand standards.

  • Content Editing Ensures all content is consistent with accepted AP, SHC and SHP editorial style guidelines. Edits, copyedits and proofreads content to ensure Sharp’s editorial and quality standards are met.Ensures content written by peers and other writers meet established editorial, quality and brand standards. Copyedits and proofreads content from peers and agency partners in a timely manner. Adheres to service level agreements, policies, and procedures. Advises peers and agency partners on accepted style guidelines. Obtains reviews and approvals prior to publication when necessary.Conducts regular audits to ensure SHP entity-wide content follows Sharp’s guidelines.

  • Project Management Develops, manages, and reports project updates to cross-functional SMEs, management and project-affiliated departments. Manages internal expectations regarding timing and deliverables. Proactively manages project issues and risks, and promptly escalates relevant issues to senior management. Advises peers on opportunities for content development. Coordinates with peers from different departments to ensure that content accurately represents all affected customer segments and product offerings.Manages clients' expectations regarding timing and deliverables.Consults with other team members to develop new functionality specifications and business solutions. Proactively manage project issues and risks, and promptly escalate relevant issues to senior management.Develop, manage, and report project updates to management and project-affiliated departments.Continuously seeks to improve workflows, reliability and efficiencies within the department. Manages Sharp Health Plan’s SharpNET page. Communicates with key clients quarterly or on as needed basis regarding content opportunities.

  • Monitors analytics and reportingMonitors online reputation management, social media and email marketing trends. Prepares monthly reports. Identifies unusual or significant activity. Recommends content ideas based on data.

  • Promotes content through accepted and new marketing strategiesPlans and develops content for social media and implements ethical social media practices. In collaboration with the Digital Strategy and Operations team: maintains currency in search engine marketing strategies, monitors organic search engine results, and ensures key pages are optimized for organic search engine placements.

  • Content workflow systemEffectively uses the workflow management system. Approves and publishes content submitted by content administrators in charge of entity-wide content. Ensures that workflows have adequate time to move through the entity for review/approval prior to posting.

  • Writes for the webPlans website content for all SHP websites and intranet. Ensures that all entity, programs and services are represented appropriately. Ensures online content is timely and relevant. Writes a variety of marketing and communications materials using established style. Ensures content is timely and fresh.Maintains productive relationships with clients. Works with department subject matter experts to research and write compelling content. Determines content to help promote SHP, programs and services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Outstanding writing and editing skills across mediums and audiences from storytelling to how-to content to technical writing. Proven ability to translate complex industry jargon into consumable content. High-level thinker who has a penchant for keeping track of details.

  • Standout idea generator and problem solver. Experience interviewing stakeholders and generating compelling stories. Ability to conduct independent research and synthesize results.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills: listening, verbal and written communications skills, and driving alignment and collaboration across departments.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment requiring minimal supervision. Must be able to work effectively in both "one-on-one" and team environments with the ability to communicate across multiple levels.

  • Must be computer literate and highly skilled using the Internet and search engines.
