JOB SUMMARY Immediate opening for a Lab Specialist in Hammer Lab. Research will focus on the investigation of immunology and interactions between host and microbe in the gut, lung, and brain.The Lab Specialist will perform advanced laboratory techniques and procedures in a research laboratory, including developing new assays. Animal procedures include the management of mouse colonies, adoptive transfer of immune cells, and the use of microbes in animals for studies of pathogen defense, microbiome studies, and colorectal cancer. Independent judgment and assessment of research outcomes essential.Laboratory procedures include the extraction of immune cells from tissues, generating flow cytometry panels, cell sorting, RNA isolation, and reporting results and statistical comparisons. Additional duties include sharing in the general responsibilities related to the functioning of the lab, assistance with ordering, receipt and inspection of raw materials.
