PCI Pharma Services Security Specialist - 1st Shift in Rockford, Illinois

Shift: 1st Shift

Security Officer will provide a safe and secure environment for our employee's, visitors, customers, and their products at PCI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.

  • Security Officer will be responsible for the protection, safeguarding and security of assets, personnel, visitors, customers and customer product.

  • Monitor parking lots, employee entrance and exits, turn stiles, shift change activity.

  • Responsible for safely driving the company vehicle daily.

  • Perform periodic and random security inspections and prepare security reports as necessary.

  • Issue security violation citations as required by inspection and according to policy.

  • Respond to building environmental, fire and security alarms through call out Matrix.

  • Monitor and operate camera systems.

  • Conduct walking rounds to ensure security measures and thoroughly completes report detailing rounds.

  • Keep inventory of access cards, issue badges to employees, vendors/contractors and enforce adherence to badge procedures.

  • Escort schedule II-controlled substance products.

  • Participate on MERT (Medical Emergency Response Team). Activate and deactivate alarm systems.

  • Lock and unlock predetermined entrances and exits.

  • Assist in writing security related policies.

  • Maintain inspection reports and records and advises management of deficiencies and recommendation efforts to address these deficiencies including daily activity reports and incident reports.

  • Prepare personnel actions and forms to request security clearance/special access and maintains records of such requests.

  • Investigates and write reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards, and other security related situations.

  • Provide any needed assistance to employees, customers, visitors, and vendors within the departmental procedures.

  • Under the direction of the Director of Security/Security Manager, mentor, train and oversee approximately twelve contract security officers.

  • This position may require overtime and/or weekend work.

  • Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.

  • Attendance to work is an essential function of this position.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Director/Manager.

Required:

  • Associate degree in a related field preferred and/or 1-3 years related experience and/or training.

  • Basic Mathematical Skills

  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Ability to perform more complex computer tasks and has knowledge of various computer programs.

  • Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.

  • High Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where there is only limited standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions that may be provided in various forms.

  • Driver's License

Preferred

  • Ability to effectively present information to various people as the job requires.

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

  • Ability to hold oneself in a professional manner.

  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail.

  • Successfully pass 400 hour law enforcement course

  • Military or police background

  • Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment and enforcement procedures.

  • Must be able to perform work both inside and outside the property with exposure to inclement weather and unpredictable crisis situations.
