A Research Fellow position is available in Immunology under the mentorship of Dr. Kathryn Knoop at the Rochester Campus. Applicants who apply should have a strong background in flow cytometry, preclinical in vivo models, and microbiome analysis. Dr. Kathryn Knoop is in the Department of Immunology, and is affiliated with the Department of Pediatrics and the Mayo Clinic Center for Cell Signaling in Gastroenterology. Dr. Knoop’s team explores mucosal immunology and how gut-residing bacteria contribute to the development of the immune system. Early life is an important time to establish oral tolerance to proteins from the diet or from the microbiota, and disruption to these processes can result in inflammatory or allergic disorders.
