HealthPartners Analyst, Health Information Management Identity in Richfield, Minnesota

HealthPartners is currently hiring a Health Information Management Identity Analyst. This position will be working remotely. POSITION PURPOSE: (Why does this position exist?) The Health Information Management Analyst will maintain the integrity of the enterprise master patient index (EMPI), which includes analyzing and resolving tasks generated by the Epic Identity application. This position will serve as a resource to all business units in HIM and must have an excellent understanding of the workflow between business units and actively able to provide hands on assistance, training, and technical support. ACCOUNTABILITIES: (Key roles, responsibilities & functions for this position) (For supervisory position -- indicate positions/departments supervised) Performs data analysis, identifies and corrects errors in HIM related applications (Ex: Epic, OnBase) as assigned and their integration with EPIC. Performs quality review of third-party applications that support the work done in HIM, as well as review the electronic record for appropriate documentation. Maintains strong working knowledge of HIM systems of systems as needed. Systems may include: EPIC HIM modules, document imaging application, electronic forms application, EpicCare Link, Identity, call center software, etc. Make decisions regarding merging and linking of patient records and updating patient demographic information within the patient database. Notifies downstream systems/departments of patient contact moves. Experienced in data analysis and identifying errors in HIM related applications (Ex: Epic, OnBase) as assigned and their integration with EPIC. Validate medical records for completeness and accuracy with written specification (e.g.: Epic medical chart review). Must have an excellent understanding of the regulatory, technical, data quality, and practical aspects of HIM Utilizes EMR chart auditing and other techniques for data validation. Keep up to date on electronic applications by attending trainings of new/existing applications. Participate in leading trainings and maintain knowledge of various systems used within the department. Partners with HIM Manager and/or Supervisor regarding special projects, coverage, and reporting, as well as participating in committees as needed. Handles specific daily, weekly, monthly reporting as directed. Performs testing application upgrades for Epic HIM modules, document imaging application, electronic forms application, etc. Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Minimum qualifications needed for this position) Associates or bachelor's in HIM, Healthcare Administration, Business or related field. 2 years' experience with data analysis, HIM, or related experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) credentialed.
