Become a Customer GridEdge Senior Project Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job you'll lead complex, multi-year initiatives, overseeing project plans, reports, and documentation. Your role involves managing vendor relationships, coordinating partners, controlling budgets, and mitigating risks to drive project success in alignment with company objectives. Immediate responsibilities include leading Proof-of-Concept (POC) vendor testing, evaluating new technologies, and facilitating large-scale deployments to enhance SCE's operational and strategic goals.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Develop and manage project plans and timelines, coordinate across teams to ensure deliverables are met, assess and mitigate risks, and troubleshoot issues to ensure project delivery/ outcomes are aligned with overall project objectives and product standards.

  • Work with procurement organization on Request for Proposals (RFPs), vendor selection, and management of technical third parties; coordinate vendors for lab testing and manage vendor costs/ invoicing.

  • Identify cross-functional work to create efficiencies across parallel workstreams.

  • Communicate across teams on project status, budget, risks, milestones, and progress; present complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Collaboratively work with CGE peers, partners, and vendors to gather and document information related to the development, evaluation, and selection of innovative metering capabilities and technologies to support development of business plan, regulatory application, and technical roadmap.

The essentials

  • Ten or more years’ project management experience with ownership of project scope, schedule and budget.

The preferred

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Business, Management, Engineering or related field.

  • Project Management Certificate (PMP).

  • Experience with delivery of large integrated IT solution projects.

  • Experience in working with external vendors and contractors.

  • Understanding of utility enterprise and/or grid information and systems.

  • Familiarity with utility meter technologies and data management systems.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to act independently and collaboratively, solid problem-solving capabilities, and can drive results.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
