CLASSIFICATION SUMMARY\ The Parks and Recreation Cashier provide customer service to Ross Park Aquatic Complex (RPAC) patrons.\ This position requires applicants to be 16 years of age or older. Seasonal Workers may work up to 4 months\ during the annual RPAC season from mid-May through late August/early September.\ This job may require successful completion of a background check. The job may require basic computer and\ money handling skills. The job requires the ability to maintain a collaborative and cooperative working\ relationship with elected and appointed officials, other City employees, other organizations, and the general\ public.\ The work environment will include inside conditions, outdoor weather conditions, in wet and humid conditions,\ with areas of dust, odors, mist, gases or other airborne matter. Employees work in/at places where they are\ exposed to mechanical hazards. This position works: days, evenings, and weekends as required.\ *Placement on the Seasonal pay scale and associated steps relate directly to position and experience with\ the City of Pocatello.\ ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (illustrative only and may vary by assignment)\ Responsible for customer service, greeting customers, and admitting pool patrons into the aquatic complex.\ Duties include collecting fees, operating a cash register, making change, and answering the phones to\ address customer needs & questions.\ Nothing in this job description restricts management\'s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities\ to this position at any time.\ ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS\ Basic computer and cash handling skills preferred;\ Supervisory experience may be preferred.\ An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and\ abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position may be considered.\ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\ While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop,\ kneel, bend, climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spaces. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to\ handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related\ equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with\ assistance. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with\ the public is required.
