Engineer I - PPS

POSITION SUMMARY :

Engineer - PPS (Pre-Production Services) responsible to prepares detailed drawings of parts and assemblies, indicating dimensions, fastening methods, and other requirements to enable consistent PCBA assembly processes. Also, prepares document packages for PCBA vendors.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Creates SCD (Specification Control Drawings) for PCBA from sketches, layouts, or notes provided by engineering.

  2. Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards, and ECR / ECO documentation.

  3. Works with Configuration Management or Document Services including file maintenance, backup, and storage.

  4. Maintains Bill of Materials and works with engineers regarding accuracy.

  5. Modifies / updates SCD for PCBAs during ECOs process.

  6. Uploads Bill of Materials of PCBA to the corporate PLM and ERP system.

  7. Creates conversion or rework documents of PCBA for global support services.

  8. Creates PCBA test specification documents.

  9. Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.

  10. Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS :

  • Must have proven drafting and illustrating skills utilizing software packages such as graphics design tools, photo editing tools, document publishing tools, and drafting tools.

  • Must be familiar with ANSI and IPC standards.

  • Must have organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Skilled at communicating with design teams and PCBA vendors.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Min 1 to 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment assembling PCBAs.

  • Familiar with Altium and Adobe Illustrator software.

  • Familiar with PLM and SAP applications.

EDUCATION :

  • College or bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.

  • Basic “Drafting to ANSI Standards” class.
