Schedule: Full Time Days

Shift: 10 hr. and 12 hr. shifts available. Shared call requirements

The role you’ll contribute:

The surgical technologist actively participates in the preparation and management of supply inventories, surgical equipment, operating room suite readiness and clinical/technical assistance as directed while performing operative and invasive procedures. This position requires knowledge of surgical instrumentation, the ability to prepare and or assemble complex mechanical devices, sequential planning, and knowledge of fundamental anatomy, strong anticipatory skills, and dexterity. This position is also responsible to keep abreast of new products, procedures, and physician techniques. The surgical technologist supports CVOR services to provide an effective and safe patient/staff environment. All activities associated with the

The Surgical Technologist functions as a member of the surgical team and adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

· Performs the role of surgical scrub by anticipating the needs of the surgeon and keeping the circulating nurse informed of any needs throughout a procedure. Ensures that all supplies, equipment, and medications are assembled prior to the procedure.

· Is innovative in maintaining high standards and quality in the facilitation of cost savings and containment.

· In an efficient and organized manner, assists team with safe and appropriate operating room turnover times. Directs ancillary personnel participating in room turnover. Provides assistance and support as needed to members of the surgical team.

· Supervises other healthcare team members in the surgical environment. Utilizes knowledge base to assist with orientation, training, and the education of new personnel.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications :

· Must be proficient in the English language

· High school graduate or equivalent

· Successful completion of an accredited school for Surgical Technology required

· Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

· Minimum 1 year experience as CVOR Certified Surgical Tech preferred

· BLS Required
