The prepares our students for jobs in the food industry, government, and academia. Our graduates are highly sought after for their understanding of the basic principles of biology, chemistry and engineering as applied to food. We seek a scholar in Food Chemistry with expertise in carbohydrate, protein, lipid, or flavor chemistry. This tenure-track faculty hire will complement existing departmental chemistry expertise in analytical chemistry, lipid chemistry, nutraceuticals, and flavor chemistry. This hire should also complement existing departmental expertise in food biology and food engineering. A faculty hire in this area is core to the mission of the department and the food science and curricula and will teach courses in principles of food science, food chemistry and/or sensory science. Individuals must have at least one post-baccalaureate degree in Food Science.

This tenure-track nine-month academic appointment is at the Assistant Professor level. Successful applicants will be competitive for external funding opportunities with the potential to establish an integrated research program and must be committed to teaching core and elective courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to mentoring research students at all degree levels.
