Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director Pharmacy Implementations is responsible for strategic process development, project implementation, and Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) conversions for new and existing members to the pharmacy contract portfolio. GPO conversions include establishing and maintaining professional business relationships, utilizing clinical and operational expertise, expediting pharmacy contract participation, reducing pharmacy costs, reporting financial impact, and promoting standardization. It is also a requirement to establish strategic alliances with key stakeholders, as it relates to a successful pharmacy expense and clinical management of the project implementation. This role oversees a team which uses data-driven insights to support strategic growth for clients. This role will also serve as a pharmacy account lead where needed. Traveling to member health systems and national conferences is required and varies. This position is also responsible for leading, managing, and developing direct reports.

What you will do in this role includes:

Empowers direct reports to improve their own skillset advancement and career growth

  • Inspires others to take ownership and make effective decisions

  • Delegates duties appropriately for the success of the project and team

  • Determines when escalation is appropriate and follows through

  • Identifies and works to remediate weak points in project and contract portfolio

  • Leads GPO conversions for new and existing members

  • Aligns new and existing members to contract portfolio in a timely manner

  • Understands and implements current contract programs for new and existing members

  • Guides new and existing members through product conversions

  • Works with vendor community to ensure contract connectivity

  • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as savings, rebates, fees, and percentages, as well as analyze statistical and financial data

  • Represents HealthTrust at various national pharmacy meetings

  • Presents to HealthTrust membership at national pharmacy meetings

  • Develops and strengthens collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Communicates information in a clear, concise, and compelling manner

  • Promotes open communication with internal and external key stakeholders

  • Stays up to date with market trends and product pipeline for decision making

  • Anticipates short-term and long-term outcomes when making decisions

  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and innovation, removes barriers, and resistance

  • Builds trust and acts with authenticity to cultivate a culture of integrity, inclusion, and mutual respect

  • Develops material for internal and external communication and projects

  • Manages pharmacy accounts as assigned

  • Strong analytic skills-- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel with the ability to use functions such as Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word

  • Builds strategic partnerships with accounts to further advance company goals of revenue and margin enhancement

  • Establishes productive, professional and consultative relationships with C-Suite and executive personnel

  • throughout member organization, building credibility and trust through collaboration.

  • Performs other duties as requested by the AVP, GPO Implementation Services

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor Degree Required

  • Graduate Degree in Pharmacy Required

  • 5-7 Years of Experience Required

  • Doctor of Pharmacy Required

  • Demonstrating the traits, inclinations, and dispositions that characterize successful leaders, exhibiting behavior styles that meet the demands of the leader roles Required

  • Experience Focusing and guiding others in accomplishing work objectives Required
