Lowe's Manager Merchandising Promotions - In Office in Mooresville, North Carolina

Job Summary:

Category Promotional Operations: The primary purpose of this role is to lead and develop the team responsible for the development of quarterly promotional plans using historical and competitive data. This includes responsibility for driving the process to ensure appropriate communication between merchants, pricing and promotions team, specialists, and other cross-functional partners.

Additionally, the purpose of the role is to identify and lead key projects that drive forward strategic priorities for Lowe's, including but not limited to, general promotional planning, Tier 1 event promo planning, pro promotional planning, etc. This role is charged with understanding customers' values, business strategies and determining optimal approaches for meeting their needs. Each project will be tailored to achieve the desired goals, and through this role, the Manager will provide leadership and guidance to the team.

This role will identify project risk and work with cross functional teams to develop mitigation plans. This position will identify key tollgates and communicate regularly status updates to senior leadership. To be successful, this role will build, sustain and influence senior leaders within the Merchandising organization. The role will identify and hire strong talent, and provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to help them achieve their best.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing the tactical planning and execution of promotional planning, beginning with communication with merchants on their plans and ending with complete entry of and revisions of planned promotions into all relevant systems (Promo Central. MPT, etc.)

  • Responsible for developing upfront promotional strategy at an item/offer level by event/week at an enterprise level for omni (DIY/Pro) and Lowes.com.

  • Responsible for providing a weekly competitive analysis of promotions run at competitive retailers and compiling data analysis into a story for merchandising partners and leadership.

  • Works closely with Promotional Planning team to understand weekly offers and prioritize for marketing support across various channels.

  • Ensures that pricing and promotional recording and execution strategies are developed, implemented, measured, and monitored effectively and efficiently through proprietary and third-party tools, analysis, and reporting.

  • Examines and streamlines work flows and processes within the team to increase efficiency

  • Leads a team of direct reports, completing all the people management activities associated with leadership of a highly functioning team, including responsibilities of recruiting, hiring, developing and performance of team members.

  • Provides timely, effective and actionable feedback and coaching to reporting individuals so that they may continue growth and development as well as perform necessary responsibilities of their role.

  • Works with business partners and other stakeholders to prioritize information/reporting needs and prioritizes activities for direct reports. Responsible for providing senior leadership with regular progress reports.

  • Maintains strategic relationships with Merchandising senior leadership and merchants in order to deliver data-supported strategic insights and recommendations for pricing solutions that support overall Merchandising strategy and goals

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Statistics, or related field

  • 5-7 Years Experience in Pricing, Data Analytics, Finance, Omni-channel Retailing, or related pricing and promotion field.

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams, data elements or financial metrics analyses

  • 1-2 Years Experience working closely with senior leadership (VP and above)

  • 3-5 Years Managing direct reports

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree MBA or relevant
