Southern Glazer's offers a competitive compensation package with a salary range of $63,000-$73,000 plus bonus. In determining the final offer the company will evaluate a specific candidates' education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately.

Overview

Responsible for executing service trending analysis in order to drive continuous improvement initiatives with our transportation partners. This role must also proactively identify, solve and communicate delays, network changes and service disruptions to ensure timely execution of transportation. The Logistics Specialist will require collaboration across the organization as required. Through market knowledge, the Logistics Specialist will be SGWS’s subject matter expert on transportation service initiatives, On Time Performance, and help identify additional transportation growth opportunities across the organization

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and TMS teams for the accuracy, availability, and order specifications to ensure that all goods and materials are delivered on site on time.

  • Assure that accurate logistic data elements are in place to assure freight is moving on-time.

  • Ability to prepare and analyze spreadsheets for upload to our transportation management system.

  • Makes transportation recommendations based on fluctuating/seasonal needs.

  • Ability to prepare and analyze excel rate files to compare freight lanes and rates.

  • Export and analyze data from TMS business intelligence tool for use in reporting of KPI’s for both carrier and supplier rankings and evaluations.

  • Evaluate/process escalations and other issues as needed to work with the teams to resolve logistical issues.

  • Responsible for preparing and conducting QBR with assigned carriers.

  • Update and communicate requested ship date and delivery dates in TMS and SAP per SOP

  • Maintain and upload of Certificates of Insurance and Carrier Contracts

Additional Primary Responsibilities

  • Adapts quickly to software upgrades and/or system implementations.

  • Review of open orders daily and backlog

  • Collaborate with purchasing / warehouse teams for planning on a regular basis.

  • Verify order specifications and warehouse shipping guidelines.

  • Update track and trace reporting for availability.

  • SAP Freight Accounting workflow maintenance

  • Troubleshoot freight related invoice questions with our divisions and accounts payable teams.

  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3-5 years Logistics Experience in a fast-paced, high volume environment.

  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills with the ability to find creative solutions to problems.

  • Must have a complete understanding of Microsoft Excel and the other Office Suite software programs.

  • Candidate must possess knowledge of logistics and warehouse processes

  • Knowledge of Over the Road Dispatching and Intermodal Concepts

  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine

  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping

  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 15lbs
