As the Government Engagement Lead, you will support the amplification of CBRE’s services across both state and federal government by proactively building trusted and lasting relationships with government and policy decision makers across Victoria. The position is responsible for achieving growth in revenue through successful procurement of government engagements across opportunities that support CBRE’s strategic objectives.

About the role:

  • Working closely with the Executive Managing Director, VIC and a range of key leaders you will be accountable for the implementation of CBRE’s government sector growth strategy.

  • Lead and shape conversations around how CBRE’s products, services and enterprise capabilities can solve challenges faced by the government sector in VIC.

  • Take ownership of internal government sector procurement processes, activate opportunities, and ensure delivery of projects to the highest standard.

  • Plan and deliver initiatives to build stakeholder engagement including internal government workshops and training.

  • Work collaboratively across our business to develop and extend CBRE’s position as a trusted partner to government stakeholders.

  • Manage relationships with industry peak bodies, including The Property Council of Australia and represent CBRE at Victorian government forums.

  • Provide expert advice on government relations and policy, monitoring emerging policy issues and developing strategies that deliver on objectives.

About you:

  • Experienced in government policy via a previous role in either State or Federal government and/or experience in a similar role from within the property or professional services sectors.

  • Track record in securing government engagements through formal and informal procurement processes.

  • Established network and exceptional business development and relationship building skills across the government sector.

  • Thorough understanding of government decision-making cycles and processes.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with experience writing effective government submissions or tenders.
