The Role

We are seeking Expressions of Interest for a Country Security Manager role, overseeing security-related services provided through 3rd party suppliers by account teams for our GWS Enterprise business across Australia and New Zealand. You will need to hold, or be willing to hold, security licenses in multiple states (likely VIC, SA, ACT and QLD) to be our Licensed Nominee. You will work independently to oversee market level security service delivery to ensure we have the appropriate controls and standards in place.

Reporting into the Country MD for our GWS Enterprise Division, you will help to shape long-term Security service delivery strategy and assist in the growth of new accounts.

You will be expected to assist in planning, implementing, and monitoring security management policies, procedures, and systems for several multisector clients’, ensuring a safe and secure working environment for our client’s people, property, and other assets.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Assesses quality and efficiency of security services provided through 3rd party suppliers.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Security policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with the company's global standards and local regulations.

  • Stay updated with changes in legislation and implement necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.

  • In conjunction with account teams, overseas security vendors to ensure contract adherence and that Client standards are maintained.

  • Provides oversight and guidance to CBRE Facility Managers in the field for security related issues and concerns.

  • Escalates incidents to appropriate account security leaders.

  • Understands and trains CBRE staff on Australian security requirements. Ensures all Security Managers have established operational procedures as outlined in the CBRE Security and Life Safety Manual.

  • Prepares emergency responses to large scale incidents in area and helps facility managers in directing emergency operations at buildings while in emergency status. Works with the property management and advises client security leadership and line of business leadership on emergency situations.

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with local and national law enforcement officials and keeps abreast of intelligence information to promote a secure environment for clients, tenants, and properties.

  • Be the nominated security licensee for our GWS business across multiple states in Australia.

  • Lead country level continuous improvement efforts in Security practices, incorporating innovation and best practices to enhance performance.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, law enforcement or security, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the key responsibilities of the job as determined by the company.

  • Security qualification Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management or equivalent would be advantageous.

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Security management, preferably within a multinational corporation.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure.

  • Availability to travel within Australia.
