Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. GIS Engineer II For Imagery - Living Atlas Of The World in Louisville, Colorado

Overview Apply your remote sensing, image processing, and imagery analytics experience to help our Living Atlas of the World team build new and dynamic content. You will design and deploy massive imagery/raster libraries as services, and develop new content and capabilities to help users derive actionable insights. You'll also be part of teaching users how to leverage dynamic imagery content and image processing in supporting natural resources, sustainable development, and government industries. In this role, you will work with content development and product engineering leads who are designing and developing production solutions and applications, creating and promoting geospatial learning opportunities and best practices through blog articles, tutorials, story maps, and more. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a project team leading the development of complex, state-of-the-art imagery and raster-based content syste Responsibilities Develop, test, and deploy foundational imagery products to ArcGIS Living Atlas Develop, validate, and promote workflows and best practices leveraging Living Atlas imagery content and analysis capabilities to provide industry solutions Contribute imagery derived information products summarizing global topics through established and innovative imagery analysis techniques Support the development and operation of automated and manual processes to streamline content updates and improve usability Work in a team environment to provide support to both staff and customers through participation in focused projects and release processes Requirements 2+ years of experience in image processing and image analysis Practical knowledge in the application of imagery for Earth sciences Experience developing and automating imagery analysis workflows Experience deriving information products from imagery A strong drive and interest to learn and launch new content quickly and work in a fast-paced development environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Bachelor's in GIS, remote sensing, physics, applied mathematics, computer science or related field Recommended Qualifications Hands-on experience with building ArcGIS mosaic datasets and image services a plus Direct experience using Landsat, Sentinel, and MODIS imagery sources Experience with ArcGIS, ENVI, ERDAS IMAGINE, GDAL Experience using Jupyter Notebooks and Python Experience building story maps and/or writing blog articles to help teach and promote geographic-based narratives Master's in GIS, remote sensing, physics, applied mathematics, computer science or related field
