Development Monitoring, Director

Role Purpose

CBRE are seeking real estate development monitoring specialists to advise our clients on development delivery risk. You will be advising real estate stakeholders such as funders, investors, occupiers and joint venture partners on their interests in development schemes. Our clients include the leading banks, institutional investors, blue chip occupiers and landed estates. The schemes that we advise on span the core asset classes of residential, offices, retail, hotels and industrial and logistics, up to £500m+ in value.

You will typically be advising our clients as part of a full initial review of development proposals, reporting and advising on all aspects of the delivery of a real estate development (developer credentials, financing, appraisal budgets, programme, design, statutory consents, third party legal agreements, site investigations and construction commercial set up) and identifying development risks - with our advice feeding into the structuring of transactions. This is then followed by monthly monitoring of the development, reporting on progress and how the various risks and challenges in the development process are being managed.

The role requires direct liaison with clients, developers and their professional teams and as such, excellent inter-personal skills are key.

The role affords the opportunity to manage client relationships and develop new business for the firm. This includes liaison with wider CBRE colleagues working in other departments to leverage and collaborate on market opportunities. With such a breadth and depth of wider real estate service lines, it enables us to expand the client service offering – adding more value to our clients, increasing our business and growing our people through the enhanced learning opportunities this approach creates.
