BorgWarner Inc. Sr. Software Engineer in Kokomo Technical Center, Indiana

DUTIES: BorgWarner PDS (USA), Inc. seeks a Sr. Software Engineer based out of our office at 2151 E Lincoln Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address; from our technical center, 13975 BorgWarner Drive, Noblesville, Indiana 46060; and from home. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Note, this position does not require travel.

Responsible for designing and implementing embedded software solutions for automotive controllers. Designing / developing embedded software for automotive controllers in accordance with Automotive SPICE development processes. Working directly with customers to perform software requirements analysis. Working with systems and hardware engineers to ensure software achieves overall system requirements. Performing electrical schematic reviews and providing feedback to hardware engineers. Developing software design documentation and reviewing with customers. Developing C code and/or software models as needed for design/coding processes. Configuring MCAL, as well as, generating BWS and RTE software using AUTOSAR tools. Working with SW test competencies in order to resolve reported software issues. Performing functional testing on target hardware, as well as, generating unit test reports, integration test reports, and developing automated regression testing for software releases.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Automotive Engineering and 36 months of experience in the job offered or related position in embedded software development. Required experience must include: Experience performing and reviewing electrical schematic diagrams for the automotive industry; Experience using microprocessor software development methods, integrated development environments, and target-based debuggers; Experience using equipment such as oscilloscopes; Experience with engine management systems and diagnostics; Experience using configuration management and AUTOSAR configuration tools; Experience working with AUTOSAR Software Architecture, ISO26262 Functional Safety, and ASPICE development processes.
