What You'll be Doing:

Assists editors with various phase of more complex or multiple projects (e.g., answering copyeditor queries on manuscript, merging comments from the author, copyeditor, and reviewer onto master set of page proofs; returning phone calls from authors and contributors. Provides rapid, accurate turnaround on proofreading and copyediting assignments Provides general editorial assistance for multiple editors or entire department (e.g., checking contracts for specific information, updating editorial files).

Key Tasks:

  • Represents Clinical Effectiveness in a positive, professional, and customer-focused manner.

  • Treats fellow employees and customers in a Fair, Honest, Responsive, and Results-Oriented manner.

  • Responsible for the editorial production and maintenance of digital versions of referential and embedded databases, such as Natural Product, Formulary Monograph Service, and Patient Education content, including review and incorporation of any new or changed data from original pharmaceutical manufacturer source documents, primary literature, author submissions, or previously published content.

  • Maintains tracking and mapping documentation for Patient Education databases.

  • Ensures Formulary Monograph Service and Natural Product document files are established, complete, and maintained.

  • Applies practical experience as well as evaluation and synthesis of information to form logical and accurate conclusions to aid in the maintenance of content.

  • Works closely with internal and/or external subject matter experts and reviewers, as well as external authors, contributors, and consultants.

  • Utilizes desktop editing, document management programs, or proprietary software to enter text, verify or edit XML, and/or to enter codified drug-related data in accordance with the policies and processes for each content type.

  • Applies solid knowledge of industry standards of practice, established clinical guidelines, and/or CDS-related standards and vocabularies.

  • Assists in content verifying, copyediting, formatting, and conformance to publication standards and structure. Also participates in proofreading assigned content.

  • Maintains quality of assigned content or data products, with emphasis on accuracy, consistency in following editorial policies, and timely addition of new information.

  • Submits work for collaborative peer review and responds appropriately to comments and criticisms.

  • Identifies and corrects omissions or errors in the content.

  • Anticipates, identifies, and seeks solutions for issues and/or inefficiencies.

  • Achieves productivity by consistently meeting deadlines as defined in the Content Priority Policy and by meeting departmental and individual goals.

  • Effectively prioritizes and tracks editing workflow and is responsible for assisting team in meeting deadlines.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and maintain detailed documentation of these projects.

  • Provides timely, accurate, and quality responses (written, verbal) to customer inquiries, as needed.

  • Communicates data acquisition needs for products to product Clinical Editor and/or Data Acquisition Team, as needed.

  • Performs other duties, projects, or assignments as directed by supervisor.

You're a Great Fit if You Meet These Requirements :

  • B.A. or B.S. in English, Journalism, Health Sciences, etc., or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in editing and/or relevant formal education

  • Experience in medical and pharmaceutical terminology & industry is very helpful but not required

  • Skilled in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously is required

  • Strong project management skills

  • Attention to detail is key

  • Problem-solving skills are needed

  • Willingness and ability to work as part of a team and also independently

  • Organized, detail oriented, effectively meets deadlines, sets priorities

  • Possess a passion for learning

Compensation:

Target salary range CA, CT, CO, HI, NY, WA: $55,500-$76,700
