Seeking a self-motivated and responsible technician to support Qorvos quick-turn Greensboro Prototype Assembly - Surface Mount Technology (SMT) work center.

This includes but is not limited to Equipment Maintenance, Assembly Order (AO) Reviews, Equipment Programming, Stencil generation/ordering, Process troubleshooting and Continual Improvement opportunities.

Individual must be able to complete equipment and process development projects as assigned by the Group Leader or Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and order SMT stencils.

``` - Review Assembly Orders and Program SMT related equipment.

``` - Troubleshoot and solve novel to difficult SMT processing issues.

``` - Lead efforts to track down and resolve, downtime, yield, and quality issues.

``` - Support new equipment installations and training.

``` - Support new employee training efforts in SMT work area (Assemblers and Technicians)

``` - Responsible for writing purchase requisitions for tools, spare parts, and consumables.

``` - Documentation ownership - write and revise Work Instructions

``` - Perform equipment maintenance (scheduled and unscheduled) to ensure tools are safe and running effectively . - Effectively communicate with all team members (including off shift teams, assemblers, fellow technicians, engineers, and Supervisors) - sharing equipment and process details encountered during the shift. - Individual may be asked to interface with (internal) customers by communicating timelines, and/or process issues that may impact delivery dates or product quality. - Maintain a positive demeanor when faced with challenging situations

Qualifications:

  • Two-year technical degree in Mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic preferred.

``` - Typically requires a minimum of 4 - 6 years of experience as a SMT technician working directly with SMT reviews and Stencil ordering practices .

``` - Preferably familiar with applicable software (e.g., Altium, GC-PowerPlace and AutoCAD) software.

``` - Must be safety conscious and possess a basic understanding of applicable software.

``` - Must have a strong mechanical aptitude with excellent equipment troubleshooting abilities and the dexterity required to assemble a variety of complex parts to very close tolerances.

``` - Must be able to work from detailed drawings, assembly diagrams, specifications and/or verbal instructions required to perform the job.

``` - Must be VERY quality focused and capable of working in a fast-paced, high-mix/medium-volume environment and able to find quick solutions to immediate problems. Must communicate effectively and routinely with opposite shift members, group-leads and supervision.

``` - Must get along well with others and maintain a professional attitude especially when dealing with difficult situations.

``` - Must be willing to work a 12 hour night shift on a 2-2-3 schedule.
