J&J Worldwide Services Estimator Planner in Ft. Sam Houston, Texas

Description

General Summary

Perform walking, planning, cost estimation, and scheduling for all service order projects. This includes writing proposals, designing projects, obtaining subcontractor bids, monitoring projects, and providing interim and final inspections of all service order projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accurately determines feasible and cost-effective technical solutions to facility work request requirements

  • Defines project scope in collaboration with senior management and government personnel

  • Processes accurate project estimates and technical design solutions within established priorities, deadlines, and contract requirements

  • Ability to analyze existing site or systems conditions and develop solutions for the replacement, modification or construction of facilities, systems, or infrastructure

  • Ability to coordinate with subcontractors, the end user, safety and infection control departments for outages, strategy meetings and scheduling

  • Basic knowledge of infection prevention methods, construction and onsite safety measures

  • Technical writing including technical work scopes, requests for proposal and quotations

  • May be expected to work hours in excess of normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs.

  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Requires any combination of education and/or experience and training equivalent to four (4) years in technical or construction fields providing the required minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities to produce detailed construction plans and accurate construction cost estimates

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including, Microsoft Exchange, MS Excel, MS Word

  • Working knowledge of RSMeans

  • Working knowledge of all phases of commercial constructions estimating including budgetary and detailed estimates, change orders, and job costing analysis

  • Must have excellent writing and verbal skills

  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record in accordance with Company policies

  • Knowledgeable with Blue Prints and or Architect drawings

  • Possess a broad knowledge of Facility Operations and Maintenance

  • Ability to use Engineering Performance Standards or equivalent when estimating man- hours

  • Experience with a Facility Computerized Maintenance Management System software (CMMS) highly desired

  • OSHA 30-hour [obtainable within one year of employment with JJWWS]

Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions

  • Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., but non to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.

  • Must be able to pass a local background check and have the ability to obtain and maintain NAC/LAC clearance after hire
