UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies Facilities Planner in Fort Sam Houston, Texas

Overview

Facilities Planner (BAMC):

Bowhead seeks a Facilities Planner to join our team in supporting the Department of Logistics Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) contract in Fort Sam Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include:

  • Assist in conducting on-site surveys, interviews, and workflow/traffic studies of work areas.

  • Assist in analyzing program data to measure the effectiveness of space planning and/or interior design programs.

  • Assist in the oversight of the implementation and accuracy of the computer-aided Drafting and Design (CADD) product of the facilities.

  • Assist government staff in preparing scale layouts and detailed drawings for construction and renovation projects.

  • Assist with finish color selection, select, provide, and submit Work Requests to install artwork.

  • Determine changes or assign new room numbers.

  • Assist and submit Space Requests to the 502d for additional space from JBSA, process new facilities into the system, remove others from the system and submit Projection Requests for funding.

  • Complete revisions of discrepancies in the Room Inventory, Facility Inventory, and other portions of the DMLSS environment.

  • Coordinate with DMLSS to ensure all RPIE is in the right location.

  • Review and evaluate Work Requests that affect space needs of the facilities. Answer building & fire code related questions as they relate to space needs of the facilities.

  • Receive space requests from customers and recommend space solutions as per Government staff guidance and in accordance with (IAW) DHA and local policies.

  • Prioritize requests that do not have an immediate solution. Prepare the quarterly Space Committee meeting. Prepare the quarterly briefing slides for the BAMC Facilities and Space Utilization Committee Meeting and provide the minutes for approval.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Bachelors Degree and three to five (3-5) years of experience

  • Minimum 3-years of experiene working in a healthcare environment

  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts

  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 10-20 pounds

  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
