Summary About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. You may need to complete a 3 year probationary period, if applicable. This position is with 7TH SIGNAL COMMAND (THEATER) 21ST SIGNAL BRIGADE 114TH SIG BN 55TH SIGNAL COMPANY COMBAT CAMERA Responsibilities Ensure all military personnel actions are accomplished in accordance with applicable directives and in a timely manner. Review and determine eligibility of personnel for awards and decorations. Serve as the authoritative source in the interpretation of rules and regulations involving complex military personnel cases. Serve as the Travel Coordinator and Defense Travel System (DTS) representative, explaining regulations and procedures to supervisors and personnel and help and applies regulatory guidance. Establish and maintain records, forms, reproduction, distribution and incoming/outgoing correspondence management procedures in and incoming/outgoing correspondence management procedures in accordance with established guidelines. Supervise, plan, prioritize, schedule, and assign tasks to subordinate military personnel. Analyzes work requirements to establish methods to subordinate military personnel. Monitor the military and civilian strength to ensure the Company does not exceed manpower ceilings. Enters a wide variety of personnel data Company does not exceed manpower ceilings. Provide advice and guidance to supervisors on Requests for Personnel Actions (RPAs) and other personnel documentation requirements (i.e., draft job descriptions). Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This position is in the Technician/Administrative Support Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. Remote telework for this position is not an option. Limited telework may be considered on a case by case basis. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by preparing, editing, and reviewing documents/ correspondence using office administrative practices and procedures; using automated software, such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, or Microsoft Power Point, to prepare reports, spreadsheets, memorandums and/or correspondence; and operating various office equipment, such as fax machines, scanners, copiers, and phone systems. Education Additional Information If you are a current federal career/career-conditional employee, you will be placed on an excepted appointment.
