Aston Carter Sourcing Specialist in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin

Description:

Research, identify, develop and implement tools, processes, or infrastructures to negotiate “best” - price, quality, service and achieve best practices and lowest global cost sources of assigned commodity. · Prepare Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Quote (RFQ), analyze supplier responses and quotes, lead or facilitate supplier selection, negotiations and facilitate contract blanket orders. · Track commodity spending and monitor process compliance to document savings and process improvements. Communicate progress, barriers, risks and benefits to appropriate management levels. · Ensure that detailed documentation is developed, approved and retained on implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and process improvements by suppliers in assigned commodities. · Manage the tracking of market trends such as cost drivers, levers and competitive situations. · Develop methods to systematically gather and report metrics on vendor performance using vendor scorecards and monitoring supplier continuous improvement objectives. · Develop hedging strategies to protect Spacesaver from the impacts associated with negative market movements. · Serve as an expert on the characteristics, capabilities, and applicability of specialized and highly technical items being procured. Develop economic projections on key products/commodities and services affecting our business. · Establish/locate substitutes for emergency situations and second sources for production continuity and outsourcing capabilities. · Provide oral and written interpretation of polices and procedures, rules and regulations, revised statutes and internal guideline to personnel and suppliers including ISO requirements. · Investigate complaints on behalf of both Manufacturing personnel and suppliers; appraise the situations objectively and issue recommendations for solution or take corrective action. Confer with and resolve problems that may arise among suppliers and departmental personnel requiring technical assistance to ensure compliance of all terms and conditions of the agreement or purchase order · Implement cost reduction and supplier analysis program to insure full use and benefit of Supply Chain Management philosophy. Perform supplier site visits and audits as required. · Take initiative to stay abreast of product information, internal processes, and professional development, as required to fulfill duties and responsibilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Purchasing with 5 years of advanced buying experience. Including 3+ years of contract negotiations. · CPIM certification is preferred (APICS certification). · Possess proficient data entry, PC competency to include Microsoft Excel and Word. · Strong analytical skills are required to identify trends in procurement and to understand strategic trends in the commodities they support. · Must have good communication skills and an ability to build relationships internally as well as externally. · Self-starter with excellent time-management skills.
