Job Description:

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Workers Compensation Paralegal to support attorneys in all aspects of case management and client representation for a contract position. The ideal candidate will have experience in workers' compensation law, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for helping individuals navigate the legal process. Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys with the preparation and filing of legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery requests.

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on case-specific issues, statutes, and regulations related to workers' compensation law.

  • Communicate with clients, medical providers, and insurance companies to gather relevant information and documentation.

  • Organize and maintain case files, including electronic and physical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, hearings, and depositions, and manage attorney calendars.

  • Prepare clients for hearings and trials, including drafting witness lists, exhibit lists, and trial notebooks.

  • Assist with settlement negotiations and drafting settlement agreements under attorney supervision.

  • Provide administrative support to attorneys, such as drafting correspondence, answering phones, and managing incoming inquiries.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Paralegal certificate from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal.

  • Experience/understanding of workers compensation law.

  • Knowledge of workers' compensation procedures, laws, and regulations.

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing, with excellent attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and legal case management software.

  • Experience with electronic filing systems (e.g., EAMS) is preferred.
