The Data Quality Unit of the CCCR systematically evaluates and analyzes complex cancer data, performs compliance audits of hospital cancer registries, provides technical assistance for hospital cancer registries, and disseminates cancer data to hospital staff.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:
This position performs regular and ongoing data quality tests to ensure that Colorado cancer data received from multiples sources are complete, accurate, and fit for use in directing public health policy, planning, cancer research, environmental studies, and cancer control programming and evaluation. This position interprets complex medical information to determine case reportability and accuracy. Position will review medical records, interpret complex oncology information, synthesize the data assign codes, and enter summary text information and coded data in the cancer registry database following standardized cancer data coding manuals. The position prepares abstracts for reportable cancer cases from pathology reports and Colorado hospitals.
