Job Summary:

  • The Manufacturing Engineer Technician performs daily support tasks needed by production.This could include, but is not limited to, assisting maintenance/tool room with troubleshooting, machine/tooling set-up, adjustments, and daily follow-up of Manufacturing Engineer project tasks.

  • They create, or find and evaluate, better and more efficient ways to manufacture our products, which involve techniques, processes, and procedures.

  • The Manufacturing Engineering Technician’s main goal, throughout all manufacturing phases, is the same: continuous improvement of employee safety, production output, equipment reliability, and product quality through lean concepts and activities.

  • This role is primarily for second shift, with possibility of other shift support when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Support manufacturing process for HVAC sheet metal part manufacturing.

  • Verification of manufactured parts to part prints and/or 3D cad models on computer.

  • Manage objectives and tasks as assigned.

  • Trouble shoot processing machines.

  • Compile and analyze statistical process control data.

  • Aid in the design and purchase of process gauging.

  • Assist onsite contractors.

  • Support the development and maintenance of process documentation.

  • Support asset care and reliability programs.

  • Aid in the implementation of projects.

  • Investigate quality / manufacturing process concerns and aid in finding solutions.

  • Investigate improvements to existing equipment and hardware to improve quality and performance processes.

  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures.

  • Support MDI team and process of problem solving and continuous improvement.

  • Utilize A3 and 9 Step problem solving techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Computer literacy, particularly MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and Trane shop-floor manufacturing systems. 3D cad a plus.

  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing.

  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and compare to production parts, 3D cad use is a plus.

  • Experience in sheet metal processing on Amada punches, Cincinnati brakes, Mazak lasers, Salvagnini Punch (S4) and Forming (P4) is a plus, expectation to learn equipment operation, part programming, and support processes where lacking.
