About the Role & Team
Disney Consumer Products (DCP is the division of Disney Experiences (DX) that brings beloved brands and franchises into the daily lives of families and fans through products – from toys to t-shirts, apps, books, console games and more – and experiences that can be found around the world, including on the DisneyStore (disneystore.com) e-commerce platform and at Disney Parks, local and international retailers, as well as Disney store locations globally.
How would you like to deliver resolutions for our business partners with our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool, maintain processes for data governance and identifying ways to improve our processes?
What You Will Do
As a Data Analyst, you will report to the Manager of Business Applications. On any given day, you will be responsible for:
Design
Identifying and proposing solutions to data quality issues
Participate in identifying and proposing Data Governance solutions
Tools
Use implementation of workflow and other Data Governance tools
Use quality and performance metric tracking tools
Use data querying and analysis tools
Support execution of Data Governance standards through technology
Conduct the update of data dictionary and maintain metadata
Data Quality Assessment
Enforce technical data standards and monitor compliance at the enterprise level
Ensure that data decisions are communicated and business & technology groups understand impacts of the decisions
Report data quality metrics
Execute audits and assess results leveraging the IT Data Steward in the domains
Support internal and external audit functions (e.g. SOX, sustainability, and traceability
Consolidate LOB level data quality metrics for consumption at the Data Governance Organization (DGO)
Participate and/or lead end-to-end testing with an understanding on data flows
Data Quality Continuous Improvement
Identify process improvement opportunities
Helps implement corrective actions to resolve data quality problems
Track data quality objectives and plans at the enterprise level
Coordinate the tracking and documentation of all technical documents
Assist business partners in PLM troubleshooting and issue resolution
Work with business partners for library updates and system changes
Guidance
Drive compliance to established standards and metrics
Communicate and implement data policies, rules, and standards
Maintain the processes and procedures for Data Governance for the enterprise
Help create and drive implementation plans for the data policies, rules, and standards
Help ensure alignment of data quality activities to business and Data Governance strategies
Provide guidance to project teams around metrics requirements and tracking to monitor data quality efforts
Required Qualifications & Skills
5 years of experience in data analytics and planning.
Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and formulas.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to story-tell and gain buy-in with data.
Understanding of existing technology architecture
Able to understand business requirements and impacts on other business units, regions, and downstream systems
Product Lifecycle Management software
Preferred Qualifications
Self-starter with ability to multi-task, adapt quickly, problem solve, learn independently, and complete projects with short timelines.
Technical Project management experience
Experience in a consumer products company or retailer a plus.
Strong organizational skills and sharp attention to detail.
Excellent root cause analysis skills
Education
- BA/BS college degree or its equivalent in relevant area
