The Opportunity:

As the ILS Support Specialist, you will be responsible to supporting the LND0154 Phase 4 Program (includes Mission and Support Systems) by delivering the ILS Program as part of a Capability Acquisition outcome.

The ILS Support Specialist role shall provide assistance to the ILS Manager to develop support plans, services and contracts to deliver acquisition logistics support outcomes for the program. The role will assist program/project staff to ensure ongoing sustainment requirements are transitioned to in-service and/or SPO arrangements in accordance with program Transition Planning.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake all relevant inventory management

  • P articipate in and lead ILS aspects of tender evaluation and contract negotiations (include financial assessments where required)

  • Carry out relevant ILS Documentation updates

  • Contribute to FIC (ILS) inputs to CLC process

  • Miscellaneous ACT and MILIS related compliance, transactional and reporting tasks such as codification, dues in and PIOS requirements in support of acquisition of proof of concept and engineering test unit activities

  • Draft responses to correspondence, briefs and reports on logistics matters

  • Understand and clarify logistics policy and legislation for stakeholders within Defence

  • CDRL and ILS documentation reviews

  • Assist the Project Management staff with the ILS aspects of contract management

  • Plan and deliver a LSA program (including Life Cycle Cost Modelling and assessment )

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Inventory Management Practitioner (includes procurement activities) with a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a similar role

  • Demonstrated ILS document/publications development skills

  • Exposure to and understanding of ASDEFCON

  • Intermediate understanding of ILS risks and Risk Management within an acquisition environment

  • Demonstrated skills in Transition and Configuration Management

  • A sound understanding of the CLC

  • Sound understanding of links between all ILS functions and FIC requirements

  • Experience with material safety requirements as part of an ILS Program such as SDSs

  • MILIS

  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills and experience.​

  • Be an Australian citizen (Mandatory)

  • Possess an Australian Government security clearance: NV1 (Mandatory).
