What you will do for Siemens Smart Infrastructure:

Designs and develops mechanical hardware and devices including controllers, sensors, actuators, valves, enclosures, and accessories. Works with senior engineering personnel, mechanical engineers, lab engineers, technical writer, approvals manager, technicians, and others within the organization to coordinate development of designs. Use engineering and other software for project management, engineering, development (3D modelling), and report writing, working knowledge of Siemens PLM NX and TeamCenter is desirable. Prepares rough copy of technical documentation to support product designs. Works with outside vendors to optimize design and obtain costing for production quantities and tooling. Assists field employees in trouble shooting product problems in field offices, distributors, or customer locations.

What We Ask of You:

• Create models and drawings for components and assemblies using CAD software

• Use Microsoft Office suite for communication, project management, documentation, and presentations based on various engineering needs.

• Prepare supporting documentation and evidence to validate concepts for new development and existing product maintenance.

• Initiate and execute change requests driven by new product introduction, design-to-cost efforts, supplier change etc.

• Works with outside vendors to optimize design and obtain costing for production quantities and tooling.

• Assists field support employees in trouble shooting product problems across all applications.

• May visit suppliers and customers to assist in resolving their issues.

• Generates development and product costs, schedule, and mechanical engineering specifications to support design team and adjacent functions.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or another related field.

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly and fabrication for electro-mechanical devices and components.

• 3 years of relevant experience.

• Good written language skills for generating progress reports and engineering specifications.

• Ability to use personal computers and software tools for design, working knowledge of Siemens PLM / TeamCenter is desirable.

• 5% travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSME

• Up to 3 years of related design experience

• Working knowledge of NX, TeamCenter, Nastran

• Experience in mechanical laboratory, other hands-on environments desirable

• The pay range for this position is $66,200 – $89,400. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
