THE OPPORTUNITY

Title: HR Lead - Commercial Tenders (EMEA)

Location: UK, Poland, Romania, Czechia (HOME BASED)

Job summary

Collaborating closely with appropriate commercial, operations and function leaders, HR COE and EMEA Cluster HR teams, the position will play a pivotal role in the human resources aspects of commercial tenders within EMEA Iron Mountain.

The HR Specialist role for EMEA Iron Mountain needs a seasoned professional with HR, competitive tender and TUPE/Acquired Rights Directive experience.

This is a new, standalone role and needs a pathfinder approach to ensure successful execution. Key competencies include strategic thinking, strong communication, effective collaboration in a global matrix, adept problem-solving, project management skills and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.

Change management proficiency is crucial for successful bid outcomes and post-transfer integration.

Responsibilities

EMEA, Commercial tenders ($1m+)

Scalability & Quality : Optimize bid support by creating standard templates and establishing consistent ways of working. Create and maintain a systematic framework which promotes streamlined processes and a cohesive approach across different bids, contributing to the organization's ability to handle multiple tenders with precision and effectiveness.

Workforce Planning : work with operational leaders to strategically define the workforce needed for the competitive bid. Forecast needs, identify crucial roles, and align recruitment, training, and development plans to ensure the right skills for successful contract delivery. Consider local nuances, involving country HR Specialists as needed to optimize workforce composition for successful execution.

Employee relations : Identifies and mitigates employee relations risks and works with Country HR specialists and ER Specialists to appropriately inform and consult with trades unions/works councils as needed.

Bid development: as required, create engaging and compelling narrative that enhances the bid document (e.g. meeting and responding to social value reporting requirements), ensuring bid submissions align with workforce strategies. Advise on employment law, employment regulations, risk and compliance, working with country HR specialists as needed.

TUPE Transfers and Workforce Transition : Ensure a smooth and legally compliant transition during TUPE transfers. Guide the transfer process, working closely with local HR teams to identify and retain key talent, address employee concerns, and ensure compliance.

Workforce Transition : Once the initial transfer is successfully completed, specialists work with Cluster HR generalists to agree on an ongoing plan of action e.g. onboarding and training plan for new employees. The generalists then execute this plan, supporting continuing integration, maintaining morale, and providing ongoing support to the transferred workforce.

Continuous improvement : responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement in HR practices linked to tender activities. You will assess and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of HR tendering activities, taking action to shape a continuously improving HR approach.

Key Skills, Requirements and Competencies:

  • Experience: substantial experience in progressively larger roles in HR required including roles in employee relations and/or HR business partnering with extensive commercial tendering and TUPE Transfer/Acquired Rights Directive experience

  • Strategic Thinking : Ability to take a proactive approach to align HR strategies with bid objectives.

  • Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate HR strategies and recommendations to a diverse audience.

  • Project Management and collaboration : Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders in a global matrixed environment. Proficient in project planning, execution, and stakeholder communication.

  • Problem Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex HR issues and find effective solutions.

  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving business environment, with the ability to work under tight deadlines, Collaboration & working in a global matrix organization.

  • Change Management : Deep understanding of effective organizational change, with a focus on minimizing disruption and maximizing employee engagement.

  • Qualifications : Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Language: Fluent in written and spoken English essential. German and/or French language skills are a strong advantage.
