The Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is located in the center of the bustling Seaport District. TheHVAC Engineeris responsible for maintaining, installing and repairing HVAC/R equipment. The Refrigeration/HVAC Technician role is dedicated to providing quality service that exceeds Guest and Member expectations work to create guests for life, by proactively embracing service standards, adhering to safety regulations and gaining the knowledge to assist guests with any and all needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain HVAC/R equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.

  • Complete task assigned through the work order process.

  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

  • Inspect HVAC/R systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.

  • Work with each department to assure emergency and safety work orders are handled promptly.

  • Conduct daily walk-thru of all mechanical rooms to identify and correct potential problems.

  • Update and order parts for an inventory parts supply used for above equipment.

  • Keep an accurate repair log and parts inventory.

  • Consistently practice and provide safe work environment.

  • Relay any pertinent information to mangement.

  • Turn in daily time tickets.

  • Maintain a good teamwork attitude.

  • Clean work areas daily.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • Must have 5 years commercial HVAC/R experience.

  • Trade school diploma in air conditioning and refrigeration required.

  • Must be 18 years of age.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet company MVR requirements.

  • BOMA Certification preferred, CFC certification required.

  • Must have HVAC license

  • Must have 3 years prior guest service experience, preferably in hotels.

  • Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and performance.

  • Must be able to work outside and may be subject to all weather conditions and varying levels of cold, heat, humidity, precipitation, wind, noise, and vibration.
