Aerotek is hiring Welders in the Ashland, VA area!

Description:

• MiG and Stick Welding

• Welding new parts onto the machines and grinding old parts off, most importantly being efficient

-Read prints (simple drawings not true blueprints) to properly lay out rebar and build forms

-Set up metal forms that concrete is poured into which makes the pipe form. Metal forms range in size (up to 10 ft tall and 6 ft wide)

-Clean metal forms: scrap dried concrete, use sledge hammer to knock off concrete, shovel concrete, lift steel bars

-Any other needed manual labor and maintenance

MIG and Stick welding, read drawings, basic math knowledge, ability to use tape measurer. Also doing some maintenance, turning wrenches, more than just reading blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

-High School Diploma or GED

-Lifting 75lbs

-Previous overhead crane/forklift experience is a plug

-Able to read tape measure to 1/16th inch. GIVE RULER TEST

Work Environment

6AM/7AM (depending on day) until 2:30pm-3:30pm (BUT need to be willing to work until the job is finished, 5-6PM potentially.

Able to work a 10 hour day if needed but aim to keep it at 8 hours a day

45 minute lunch (15 minutes paid)

Open air concrete yard. Able to work in the elements - Hot, cold, rainy, windy, dusty

Steel toes, hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs and long pants. Recommend long shirt so concrete does cut skin

Pay : $23-27/hr.
